"From Awareness to Funding: A study of library support in America" is the fourth in a series of reports that OCLC has prepared on key issues confronting the library and information community. Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the report segments the voting community to allow trustees, friends and librarians to understand their likely supporters and opponents in the political arena, and where there are opportunities to persuade the undecided. The speaker will answer such key questions such as which audience/market segment should libraries target with their marketing and advocacy efforts? How can they balance growing service needs with the need to pursue financial support? How successful are libraries compared to other service agencies at securing funding? The main findings of this research will be presented and many do apply to the Canadian library scene.
